Caleb McConahay

Hello, my name is Caleb McConahay. I am a student at IUPUI majoring in Exercise Science Pre-Physical Therapy. I grew up in a very small town in Indiana and have always been involved in sports. My inspiration for becoming a physical therapist came from my background in sports and also my older brother. My brother has hemi pelagic cerebral palsy which affects his balance, coordination, and strength on his right side. Like myself, he loved sports and through that, was introduced to exercising. For him exercising allowed him to grow physically and mentally. Not only was he increasing his strength, balance, and coordination, he was building confidence in himself. This was also his way of proving his doubters wrong. Growing up watching my brother accomplish his goals and grow mentally, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to use exercise to help others. It wasn't until I suffered an injury, that I was introduced to physical therapy. After a few visits I decided it was the career I was going to pursue.
